Proposal to Create a Botanical Garden, Dated
1774
Proposal to Create a Botanical Garden signed by many of the
influencial men associated with the Hospital's early history
- Dated 1774. Though this proposal was accepted, the Garden
was not planted at the time due to financial constraints.
However, in 1976, as a part of the Nation's bicentennial celebration,
the Physic Garden was planted in front of the Pine Building's
West Wing in the spirit of the original proposed garden.
