Healthcare providers

Healthcare providers include proceduralists, residents and the operating room staff who interact with the anesthesia providers. For many of these providers, their prior interactions with anesthesia providers has been quite limited and therefore they are not sure of what we may need or the operating room culture that we are used to. In this section, we will provide some basic terminology and points of reference to better facilitate the interactions and lead to a more successful working experience. The anesthesia workflow consists of three major components: preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
